SSEN launches free, impartial energy advice service in partnership with YES Energy Solutions

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has partnered with YES Energy Solutions, a Community Interest Company, to launch a free service that provides impartial energy efficiency advice, and is calling on its customers to visit to sign up.

In March 2019, SSEN joined forces with Yes Energy Solutions (YES) to provide its central southern England customers with free, expert guidance as part of the network operator’s ongoing commitment to support all of its customers. Previously, SSEN made the referrals to YES on behalf of customers following conversation with the Customer Contact Centre. Now customers will be able to self-refer to receive advice from YES’ expert advisors who will offer guidance on how to make their energy bills more affordable and live in a warmer more comfortable home.

By registering at, eligible customers can access a range of free services including:

  • Saving energy
  • Switching energy suppliers
  • Grants and loans available for insulation and heating systems
  • Money they could be claiming such as the Warm Home Discount and Winter Fuel Payment
  • Heating hot water and thermostat advice
  • Smart meters and how to use them effectively
  • Income maximisation

Lyndsey Stainton, Head of Stakeholder Engagement at SSEN, explains more:

“As a responsible network operator, SSEN understands it has a vital role to play in helping its customers use energy more efficiently. By working together with partners, such as YES, we bring stronger support to our customers through expert advice and guidance.

“We are always listening to our customers and looking for ways to improve the services we provide, so setting up a self-referral area to our website was the natural next step to accommodating our customers’ needs, and helping them to save money while heating their homes efficiently. Our customers in England who don’t have internet access can also call YES directly on 03301 359 110 to access their range of service.”

In addition to working with YES across its central southern England patch, SSEN is also in partnership with Home Energy Scotland (HES), offering all of its customers free and impartial expert energy efficiency advice to help them save money and keep warm in their homes all year round.
