Essential electricity works due to start on A3290 – 29 October 2019

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) will begin essential work on the underground electricity cable network on the A4 connecting to the A3290 on Tuesday 29 October at 10:00 hours.

These works, which are expected to take around three weeks to complete, will not affect power supplies, and are part of the essential upgrade works to electricity infrastructure supplying homes and businesses in the Reading area.

For the safety of road-users and SSEN staff on site, a traffic management scheme has been agreed with Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council and Highways England; this incorporates a temporary traffic management system at the A4 London Road junction connecting with the Suttons Seeds roundabout on the A3290.

SSEN would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this essential work may cause, and assure you that SSEN will do all it can complete the project as safely and as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions about this work, please contact SSEN's Project Manager, Glenn Beard on 07767851546.
